The 9th Infantry Division is a mature online multi-gaming clan comprised of individuals representing a diversity of age, race, geographical location, gender, socioeconomic background, and gaming skill. The primary unifying traits which all members share are their passion for online gaming and the desire to be a member of a group that emulates that passion. We were established in 2000 on the foundation of competitive spirit, mutual respect, and camaraderie. The 9th has been a respected and rapidly growing clan in recent years. It is the goal of this organization to continue its expansion while maintaining its elite reputation in the online gaming community.
Clause 1 - Headquarters (HQ) will oversee the overall operations of the 9th.
Clause 2 - All members of HQ will have the rank of Brigadier General or above.
Clause 3 - The specific duties of HQ include (but are not limited to); making financial decisions, distributing funds to 9th sponsored servers, determining member punishment in conjunction with the Military Police (MP's) in the absence of the company C/O, approving/declining promotion �leaps� or promotions to 2nd Lieutenant and above, creating/disbanding companies, appointing/removing company Commanding Officers (C/O's), granting/revoking Teamspeak (TS) server admin (SA) rights, and making the rules which govern the 9th.
Section 2
Clause 1 - Company C/O's responsibilities include; overall leadership of their members, recruiting appropriate members, promoting members, arranging ladder matches (if applicable), disciplining company members, serving as a role model for 9th values, and furthering the positive reputation of the 9th in their respective games.
Clause 2 - C/O's may choose their own X/O, but this decision must be ratified by a 2/3 majority vote of HQ.
Clause 3 - Company X/O's are expected to assist in the execution of the aforementioned duties of the Company C/O's.
Clause 4 - A promotion should be denied by the company C/O if the prospective member has not fulfilled the requirements to be promoted (e.g. the member has been mostly inactive or has conducted himself/herself in an unbefitting manner).
Clause 1 - Show respect to all members and non-members alike.
Clause 2 - Cheating is not tolerated whatsoever. If it can be proven a member is cheating they will be PERMANENTLY expelled from the 9th (no second chances, no apologies accepted, no appeals).
Clause 3 - Members are expected to pay their monthly dues (currently $3.00/month). Note: It's up to you our 9th members to help keep what we all have worked hard for. Without you we lose our web site, TS and all of the gaming servers that you all enjoy playing on. Extra donations are appreciated.
Clause 4 - Purposeful team-killing is prohibited.
Clause 5 - Do not ask for promotions.
Clause 6 - Problems or disputes should be handled by going up the chain of command. Before coming to HQ, see your company Commanders. You may contact HQ if the issue is urgent.
Clause 7 - Members who are not seen on TS for more than a month without an authorized leave of absence from the company C/O or HQ are considered AWOL. Such members are dropped from the roster (expelled) and need to reapply if they wish to rejoin the 9th (note: returning members who were AWOL will likely face a significant demotion as determined by HQ).
Clause 8 - Members are not allowed to be a member of ANY other gaming clan (note: special exceptions may be made by HQ if the other clan only plays a game in which the 9th is not involved).
Clause 9 - No pornographic, sexist, or racist subject matter.
Clause 10 - Members may NOT change their gaming name once they been in the 9th for a period of 3 months or have reached the rank of Spc.
Clause 11 - Members must represent {9thInf} in every gaming venue in which {9thInf} participates. Tags {9thInf} must be displayed as applicable, for all gaming related applications, including but not limited to mIRC, Ventrillo, and Xfire. "REPRESENT AND BE PROUD OF YOUR TAGS!"
Section 2 - TS Rules
Clause 1 - No excessive swearing on TS. Note: Due to minors or religious members, please refrain from swearing if possible.
Clause 2 - Only use push-to-talk option on TS (no voice activation). Voice activation will only be acceptable if granted by HQ. All members and guest must use push to talk!.
Clause 3 - No recording is allowed on TS unless authorized to do so by your company C/O or a member of HQ.
Clause 4 - Only Officers of 9th, 2nLt. and up are to be given SA rights by their company C/O. If abused, it will be removed!
Clause 5 - Always wear your tags and rank in the following format: Rank. Name *Company* [e.g. Pvt. Johnson *B*].
Clause 6 - Wear YOUR tags ONLY. Do not impersonate any member at any time.
Clause 7 - No spamming example: channel texting, channel whisper, channel flooding.
Clause 8 - No sexual comments or innuendo towards another member or non-member. Show RESPECT!
Section 3 - Forum Rules
Clause 1 - No extremely vulgar language.
Clause 2 - No excessive spamming. Remain on-topic outside the spam forums.
Clause 3 - No posts or pictures which glamorize or promote the use of illicit drugs or nudity. **Avatars / Signatures**
Clause 4 - Respect all members and non-members alike. (NO personal attacks towards individuals, any concerns should be brought forth via PM.)
Clause 5 - Posts may be deleted by forum admins at any time without prior notification if deemed 'inappropriate.�
Clause 1 - All members are expected to maintain the highest ethical standards when playing in a server. (You represent us all)."
Clause 2 - Good sportsmanship is expected. Members are allowed to �heckle� each other in good spirit, but malicious or excessive trash talking is prohibited.
Clause 3 - Be respectful of server admins (if you are not happy with the way in which the server is run� disconnect from it).
Clause 4 - Members must wear the appropriate {9thInf} tags for their game at all times when playing. For details in each game, see the Company C/O.
Clause 5 - No excessive vulgar language.
Clause 6 - No pornographic Images.
Clause 1 - Members of 9th are required to pay $3 per month to help support 9th and its servers, Web site, TS and all gaming servers that you all enjoy playing on. Note: A member of 9th can pay either $3 per month or up to $36 for the year. HQ suggests not paying any more than the $36 at any one time. You may send in extra donations to help support 9th and its servers.
Clause 2 - If a member resigns or is discharged from the 9th his or her remaining dues are considered a donation.
Clause 3 - It is your responsibility as a member of the 9th to keep up with your dues. The company C/O reserves the right to demote or discharge a member for failure to maintain their dues. "Please help support your clan!"
Clause 4 - If a member can not pay his or her dues, you must contact your company C/O to resolve the issue. You may be asked to perform certain tasks to work off your dues temporarily.
Note: The 9th Infantry Division C/O and X/O are exempt from dues, due to their responsibility of running the 9th Infantry Division.
The following are incremental levels of punishment which allow for gradual escalations of punishment. Some offenses will illicit an immediate expulsion from the clan (see Article III). The 9th reserves the right to modify punishments as needed.
Level I - The member may be issued a warning (written or verbal) that he/she is in violation of a specific rule.
Level II - The member is demoted. The extent of such a demotion will be made in conjunction with the company C/O (if applicable) and HQ.
Level III - The member is expelled from the clan (note: depending on the circumstances under which the member was expelled, that member may also be banned from TS and all 9th sponsored servers).
All promotions are based upon a members activity within and contributions to the 9th Infantry. Each member of 9th is eligible for a promotion once a month. In order to receive a promotion he or she must be up to date with their dues.
Promotion �jumps� may be approved by HQ under certain circumstances if the company C/O can make a compelling argument to do so. *Commanders must fill out the proper form in the Commanders Forum*
No member may be promoted more than once within a month unless approved by HQ.
All Officer promotions must be granted by HQ.
Clause 1 - A member is or may be entitled to retirement on certain conditions that are provided by HQ and its council.
Clause 2 - To be considered, a member must serve a minimum of 3 consecutive years in the clan.
Clause 3 - To be considered, a member must have contributed to the company he or she has been assigned to. Along with having met and exceeded the criteria that is provided by HQ and the company Commanders.
Clause 4 - Retired members of 9th will relinquish any administrative rights they may have to 9th gaming servers and web sites. Only under certain cirumstances will a retired memeber will obtain or keep their access.
Clause 5 - Retired members of 9th will keep basic member area forum access, unless the retired member joins another clan, then all their access is removed.
Meritorious Service Medal:
Criteria: - This medal is earned for outstanding noncombat service to the 9th Infantry Division.
